Statesville Community on High Alert as Matilda Jamelle Turner Goes Missing After Leaving Fifth Street Ministries

Statesville, North Carolina – The Statesville Police Department has issued a Missing Person Alert for Ms. Matilda Jamelle Turner, who was last seen leaving Fifth Street Ministries located at 1421 Fifth Street. Ms. Turner informed the staff that she was heading towards Virginia, but she has not been seen or heard from in several days, raising significant concern within the community.

Ms. Turner, a Black female with brown eyes and black/gray hair, is approximately 5’5” tall and weighs around 200 pounds. She walks with a cane and has been diagnosed with both dementia and schizophrenia, which heightens the urgency of finding her. Unfortunately, there is no information available regarding what she was last wearing.

The Statesville Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Ms. Turner. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to contact the Statesville Police Department at (704) 878-3406 or reach out to Investigator Chapman directly at (704) 878-3529.

The community has been actively sharing the alert on social media. Terrie Kilpatrick posted, "Prayers she’s found safe," while another user, Crimhorra, simply shared the missing person alert in hopes of spreading the word.

The Statesville community remains on high alert as they come together in the hope of safely locating Matilda Jamelle Turner.
