Tipp City Mourns the Loss of Long-Time Resident Daniel "Dan" J. Hass at Age 53

Tipp City, Ohio – The Tipp City community is grieving the loss of Daniel "Dan" J. Hass, a long-time resident who passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at the age of 53. Dan’s death follows a courageous battle with cancer, leaving a profound impact on his family, friends, and the wider community.

Dan was born on December 16, 1970, in Dayton, Ohio, and grew up in Trotwood, where his family was deeply involved in the local community. His father, Richard J. Haas, served as Mayor of Trotwood for 18 years, and his mother, Roselyn J. (Traver) Haas, was a dedicated school teacher. Dan graduated from Trotwood High School in 1989, following the path of community service and education set by his parents.

Dan is remembered by his family as a loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Jennifer (Stanley) Haas, who stood by him throughout his illness. Together, they raised four sons: Austin, Nolan, Gordon (who is engaged to Emma Conley), and Landon. Dan’s family was his greatest source of pride, and his role as a father was central to his life.

In addition to his immediate family, Dan is survived by his siblings, Roseann (Michael) McDonald of Colorado and Mary (Jeffrey) Coomer of Union, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Richard L. Haas.

The community of Tipp City is deeply saddened by Dan’s passing. He was known for his warmth, kindness, and the strength he showed even during his illness. As the community reflects on his life, there is a shared sense of loss and a strong remembrance of the positive impact he made on those around him. Dan’s legacy lives on in the love and respect he garnered from his family, friends, and the entire community.
