Springfield, Ohio – In a heartbreaking accident early Saturday morning, 21-year-olds Landon Overholser and Kylie Coffey lost their lives in a fatal ATV crash in Springfield. The incident occurred around 12:50 a.m. on Ballentine Pike, prompting a swift response from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
According to reports, Landon Overholser was driving the ATV with Kylie Coffey as a passenger when the vehicle sideswiped another ATV. This collision caused Overholser to lose control of the ATV, which then veered off the road, struck a fence, and overturned.
Landon Overholser was airlifted to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, where he was later pronounced dead. Kylie Coffey was transported to Springfield Regional Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries.
The crash prompted the closure of Ballentine Pike for approximately four hours as authorities conducted their investigation.
The tragic loss of both Landon and Kylie has deeply affected the community. Katherine A. McConehea, a friend of Landon, took to Facebook to express her grief and to request that those who knew and loved Landon contribute photos for a memorial slideshow. “To everyone who knew and loved Landon – We are working on collecting pictures to include in the slideshow at Landon’s memorial service. Please text me pictures or send them on FB messenger,” she wrote.
A GoFundMe campaign organized by Logan Burns is also ongoing to support the memorial service for Landon Overholser.
The community continues to mourn the loss of these two young lives and rally around their families during this difficult time.
