Tragic East Hartford Incident – Upma Sharma and Naresh Kumar Identified in Apparent Murder-Suicide

East Hartford, Connecticut – A tragic incident unfolded late Wednesday night, claiming the lives of Upma Sharma, 54, and Naresh Kumar, 62, in what police have identified as a murder-suicide. The married couple was found with fatal gunshot wounds at their home on Hilltop Farms Lane.

The East Hartford Police Department responded to the scene around 10:30 p.m. after reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered the bodies of Sharma and Kumar, with evidence suggesting that a dispute between the couple preceded the fatal event. Authorities recovered a firearm at the scene, and the investigation is still ongoing. Notably, another adult present in the home at the time was unharmed, and no children were involved in the incident.

The local community has been left in shock by the tragedy. Neighbors expressed their alarm, describing the situation as both confusing and frightening. An obituary for the couple is expected to be released in the coming days.
