Silvia, originally from Brazil, had no family in the United States. Her close friend, Iracema Nascimento, has taken the lead in organizing a fundraiser to support Silvia’s funeral and celebration of life. The fundraiser, launched on August 21, 2024, aims to raise $5,000. As of today, $710 has been donated, with contributions from nine individuals, including a generous anonymous donation of $200.

Iracema described Silvia as a hardworking young woman who was passionate about dancing, the outdoors, and caring for children. Silvia worked as a nanny and caregiver and was known for her warm smile and kind heart. Iracema expressed her grief, stating, "I will miss my friend, and it is so tragic how she passed."

The community has come together to support this cause, with several individuals sharing their thoughts and donations. On Facebook, Dilma Tavares posted, "Please help," urging others to contribute to the fundraiser. The funds raised will go towards honoring Silvia’s memory and providing her with a dignified send-off, as requested by her family in Brazil.
