Franklin County, PA – In a devastating accident early Wednesday morning, two young men from Hagerstown, Maryland, lost their lives in a crash on Interstate 81. The victims have been identified by police as 25-year-old Diamonte Drequan Disney and 20-year-old Tiheen Justice Nathaniel Matthews.
The tragic incident occurred at approximately 1:54 a.m. on August 21, near mile marker 5.8 in Antrim Township. A black 2012 Infiniti G37, carrying four individuals, veered off the road for unknown reasons. The car struck a guidewire on the left side of the highway, rolled several times, and ultimately came to rest on its roof between the southbound lanes.
The force of the crash ejected all four occupants from the vehicle. While two of them were airlifted to nearby hospitals, Disney and Matthews were pronounced dead at the scene.
The highway was closed for five hours as emergency crews worked to clear the area and investigate the crash. Authorities have not made any arrests, and the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
On Facebook, the community expressed their sorrow and support for the families of the deceased. Lafonda Montgomery wrote, "Praying for Diamonte and Tiheen families."
