Urgent Fundraising Appeal Launched by Siblings for Christopher Chu’s Funeral Expenses in England

Steve Chu and his sister, Suzanne Wedmore, have made an emotional appeal for financial assistance to cover the funeral costs of their late brother, Christopher Chu, who passed away unexpectedly on August 19, 2024, due to hospital-acquired pneumonia. The siblings, who have very limited financial resources, have organized a fundraiser to meet the necessary expenses.

Christopher Chu, who was partly disabled and faced learning difficulties, left behind no assets, leaving his family struggling to pay for the funeral. Despite applying for government assistance, they expect to receive only the bare minimum, which may cover the cremation and certification costs.

The total cost of the funeral is £2,750, with £1,650 needed by September 7 to pay the funeral director. So far, the fundraiser has raised £342 from 10 donations, with Jessica Ware contributing £100 as the top donation. The family is reaching out to friends, strangers, and the community for any support they can provide.

Steve Chu expressed the difficulty of asking for help, as he and Suzanne have always been proud people. However, they are now in desperate need of assistance to ensure their brother receives a proper funeral.

The funeral is scheduled for September 11, 2024, and the siblings are hoping to raise the remaining funds before that date. Anyone willing to contribute, no matter how small the amount, would be greatly appreciated by the family.

The fundraising campaign remains active, and the family is hopeful that they will reach their goal in time.
