Nawavu Settlement, Votualailai – The Fiji Police Force is urgently seeking public assistance in locating 74-year-old Govind Shashaiya, who has been missing since July 7, 2024. Mr. Shashaiya, a resident of Nawavu Settlement in Votualailai, was reported missing at the Sigatoka Police Station, and extensive search efforts have been underway since then.
Despite the involvement of the police, community members, and the K9 Unit, all efforts to find Mr. Shashaiya have so far been unsuccessful. The authorities are appealing to anyone who may have information about his whereabouts to come forward.
The Fiji Police Force shared a post on Facebook asking for assistance, emphasizing the importance of public cooperation in locating Mr. Shashaiya. The post read, "Please assist us in locating 74-year-old Govind Shashaiya, reported missing at the Sigatoka Police Station."
Community members have also expressed their concern on social media. Samisoni Tamai Ju Tuiwate posted, “Isa o Galu,” reflecting the worry and sadness felt by those who know Mr. Shashaiya.
