Washington, D.C. Police Seek Public’s Help in Locating Missing 14-Year-Old Yessenia Janis-Teresa Wilson, Last Seen in Southeast D.C.

Washington, D.C. – The Metropolitan Police Department is urgently requesting public assistance in locating 14-year-old Yessenia Janis-Teresa Wilson, who has been missing since Friday, August 16, 2024. Yessenia was last seen in the 200 Block of Newcomb Street Southeast at approximately 2:00 PM.

Yessenia is described as a Black female, standing 5’2” tall, weighing 125 pounds, with brown eyes and red/brown hair. She was last seen wearing a white dress with flowers and a grey hooded sweatshirt.

The incident was officially reported on August 18, 2024, prompting the police to issue a critical missing person alert. The Metropolitan Police Department’s Youth and Family Services Division is leading the investigation and is urging anyone with information to come forward. Tips can be provided by calling (202) 576-6768 or the Real Time Crime Center at (202) 727-9099. Anonymous tips can also be sent via text to 50411.

The D.C. community has been rallying for Yessenia’s safe return, with many sharing posts on social media to spread awareness. The Facebook group "DC Missing Kids/Children" highlighted her case, calling her a "Critical #MissingPerson" and sharing details of her last known whereabouts.

The family and the police are deeply concerned about Yessenia’s well-being and are asking for the community’s help in locating her. The situation remains critical, and every effort is being made to bring Yessenia home safely.
