West Pittston, Pennsylvania – The Wyoming Area Regional Police have launched an urgent search for 67-year-old Paul Kasson, who has been missing since Monday, August 19, 2024. Kasson was last seen leaving his residence on Spring Street in West Pittston around 1:30 PM. He was reportedly wearing grey sweatpants, a pink t-shirt, a baseball cap reading "Jesus," black sneakers, and was using a red walker. His disappearance is particularly concerning due to his diabetes and other health issues, as he left without his necessary medication.
The search efforts, which include aerial and ground teams from various local agencies, have focused on the area surrounding the Susquehanna River. Despite these efforts, Kasson remains missing. Authorities are pursuing a lead that suggests Kasson may have been seen walking from Duryea toward Pittston City on Tuesday.
The community has responded to Kasson’s disappearance with an outpouring of concern and support. On social media, friends and family have been sharing updates and prayers, urging others to help locate Kasson. Alma Petrowski, in a heartfelt post, implored the community, "Please share to everyone so we can find him. Please pray, thank you." Joelle Bauman added that she is "90% sure" she saw Kasson walking shirtless toward Parsonage Street in Pittston on her way to work.
Others, like Annmarie Leckie Allen, expressed their hopes for a "safe return," while Louli Lombardo and Laura Crawford Herron shared prayers for Kasson’s safety. The search has also seen widespread sharing of information on social media, with many posts tagged as "Shared" to amplify the reach.
As the search continues, the Wyoming Area Regional Police urge anyone with information to contact authorities immediately at 911 or to send tips to talktous@regionalpolice.org. The community remains on high alert, with many holding out hope for Kasson’s safe return.
