Alexis Mendoza, Wimberley, TX— The community of Wimberley is mourning the loss of Alexis Mendoza, affectionately known as "La cicatriz de la cueva," who passed away following a severe stroke. Alexis struggled valiantly after suffering a blood clot in his brain on Wednesday night, but despite his fight, his condition was too critical, and he ultimately passed away.
In honor of his memory and to fulfill his final wish to be laid to rest in Mexico, his sister, Briceyda Mandujano Mendoza, has organized a fundraiser. The goal is to raise $50,000 to cover the necessary expenses, including the transportation of his remains to Mexico, where his family wishes to give him a proper farewell as he had desired.
The community has shown tremendous support, with $4,240 raised so far from 53 generous donations. The largest donation, $750, was made anonymously, demonstrating the deep impact Alexis had on those around him. Briceyda expresses her heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has contributed, acknowledging the challenge of meeting such a significant financial goal but trusting in the kindness and generosity of friends, family, and all those who cared for Alexis.
"We only want to give him the farewell he wanted," Briceyda shared, thanking the community and asking for continued support during this difficult time.
We extend our deepest condolences to the Mendoza family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you navigate this profound loss.
