Anthony James Mallers Sr, Dubuque, IA—Community Grieves Loss of Beloved Father and Husband

Anthony James Mallers Sr, Dubuque, IA—The Dubuque community is mourning the unexpected passing of Anthony James Mallers Sr, who passed away on August 13, 2024. Anthony, known affectionately as Tony, was 39 years old.

Born on February 8, 1985, in Arlington Heights, IL, Tony was the son of Anthony Mallers and Barbara Gruesen. He grew up in a family that valued hard work and community, traits he carried throughout his life. Tony pursued a career in plumbing, where he became a skilled tradesman after completing apprenticeships and technical school. In 2011, he married Kathy Gabel at the Church of the Nativity in Dubuque, and together, they built a life centered around their family and business, TK Plumbing.

Tony’s passing leaves behind his wife, Kathy, their two sons, Anthony Jr. and Trint Huseman, and their daughter, Kaylee Huseman. His family was the center of his world, and he was a devoted husband, father, and son. Tony is also survived by his mother, Barbara Gruesen, father, Anthony Mallers, grandparents Thomas Mallers and Shirley Gruesen, sister Amy Perez, brother Andrew Mallers, and many other relatives who cherished him deeply.

A fundraiser has been organized by James Mallers to help cover memorial expenses and to support Tony’s family during this difficult time. The community has yet to begin contributing, but their support is anticipated as Tony was a well-known and respected figure in Dubuque.

The community remembers Tony for his kind heart, dedication to his craft, and unwavering love for his family. His sudden departure has left a profound void in the lives of those who knew him.

We extend our deepest sympathies to the Mallers family during this time of sorrow. Our thoughts and prayers are with them.
