Big Dave, Port LaBelle, FL—It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Big Dave, a beloved member of the Port LaBelle community. David Weber, known affectionately as Big Dave, was not only a highly skilled barber at the World Class Barbershop of LaBelle, Inc. but also a cherished friend, brother, and confidant to many. His sudden passing has left the community in deep sorrow.
Big Dave was a man of strong beliefs, always willing to engage in meaningful conversations. He was known for his selflessness, always ready to help those in need. Over the last decade, he became an integral part of the World Class Barbershop family, touching the lives of everyone who walked through its doors. His warmth and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Hugo Vargas, the owner of the World Class Barbershop, has set up a GoFundMe campaign to help cover Big Dave’s funeral expenses. The campaign has already raised $1,920 out of a $15,000 goal, with donations from community members such as Curtis Kincaid, Preston DeVoss, and Pascual Saucedo, who contributed $1,000. Hugo Vargas also plans to establish a David Weber Memorial Account at the First Bank of Clewiston in LaBelle, where additional donations can be made.
The community has shown an outpouring of support on social media. Hugo Vargas expressed his deep sorrow, saying, "It is with a heavy heart today, that I have to announce that last night we lost BIG DAVE. He was a true conversationalist, passionate about his beliefs, selfless, thoughtful, and very giving to those in need." These heartfelt sentiments were echoed by many others who shared their grief and memories of Big Dave on Facebook.
Funeral arrangements are still being determined as the community processes this sudden loss. Big Dave was the glue that held his family together, and now the community hopes to come together to support them during this difficult time.
We extend our deepest condolences to Big Dave’s family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of grief.
