Carmen L. Sipes, Syracuse, IN—Community Mourns a Beloved Family Member

Carmen L. Sipes, 82, of Syracuse, passed away on August 14, 2024, at her home. Born on March 7, 1942, in Alexandria, IN, to Gustav and Selma (Beckley) Tulowitzky, Carmen led a full life, retiring from General Motors in Anderson after a decade of dedicated service. She was known for her warm presence and love for her family.

Carmen is survived by her daughter, Denna Miller, of Willits, CA, and her son, Lance German, of Leesburg, IN, along with five grandchildren: Shanna Phillips, Coty Miller, Kennedy Miller, Wyatt German, and Abby German. She also leaves behind a great-grandson, Lucas Phillips, and her sister, Eleanor Wisehart, of Alexandria, IN. She was preceded in death by her son, Wade Miller, and three brothers: Bob, Jerry, and Bill Howell.

The community gathered on Monday, August 19, 2024, at Eastlund Funeral Home to pay their respects, with Pastor Brad Cox officiating the service. Following the service, Carmen was laid to rest at Milford Cemetery.

In addition to these heartfelt messages, a fundraiser was organized by Russell Hammer to assist Lance German during this challenging time. As of now, $320 has been raised out of a $400 goal, with donations coming from individuals such as Jason Brandyberry and Gary Mullett.

The love and support shown by friends, family, and the community during this difficult time have been a testament to the impact Carmen had on those around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
