Carrie Mitchell, Houston, TX, Family Seeks Support to Lay Her to Rest

Carrie Mitchell, Houston, TX—The Houston community is coming together to support the family of Carrie Mitchell, who tragically passed away recently. Carrie Mitchell, a beloved mother, was an innocent bystander at a bus stop on the North side of Houston when she was struck during a high-speed car chase on the freeway. The impact of the collision was so severe that it knocked her out of her shoes, resulting in her untimely passing.

Her daughter, Keandra Bogan, has organized a fundraiser to cover the burial expenses for her mother. Although the Victims Crime Unit will cover the wake and funeral costs, additional funds are needed to lay Carrie to rest at Houston Memorial Cemetery in Pearland, a location chosen for its affordability and significance to the family.

As of now, the fundraiser has raised $100 out of the $5,600 goal, with a single donation made by Ora Whorton. Keandra, who affectionately refers to herself as "Ke-Ke," has expressed her deep gratitude for any support during this challenging time. She shared that most of her mother’s side of the family has already passed on, leaving her to rely on the kindness of others to fulfill her mother’s final wishes.

The wake for Carrie Mitchell is scheduled for August 24th, 2024, at Outreach Missionary Baptist Church, with viewing hours starting at 11 a.m. and the service at 12 noon. Keandra also expressed her thanks to local news channels ABC 13 and Fox 26, as well as her church, for their invaluable support during this time.

Our hearts go out to the family of Carrie Mitchell. May they find comfort and strength in the support of their community during this period of grief.
