Dacia Mbongo, Toronto, ON – A Community in Mourning

Toronto, ON—The Mbongo family is grieving the unexpected passing of their beloved son, Dacia Mbongo, who left us on Thursday, August 8, 2024. Dacia was a vibrant young man of 21 years, known for his dedication to his family and his work at TD Bank. Recently, he had proudly completed his degree in computer science and telecommunications from George Brown College in Toronto.

The sudden loss of Dacia has left his family and friends in profound sorrow. His father, Prince Mbongo, has expressed deep gratitude for the outpouring of support during this challenging time. To help ease the financial burden of the funeral and other expenses, Prince has organized a fundraiser. As of today, $986 CAD has been raised out of a $30,000 goal, thanks to the kindness of 24 donors. Among them, Marie Claire Tshimbalanga has made the largest contribution of $150, with others like Evan Hadjaz and anonymous donors also showing their support.

The funeral services for Dacia Mbongo are scheduled to take place at the Magnus Poirier funeral complex on East Sherbrooke Street, Montreal, QC. The family invites everyone to attend on Friday, August 30, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and on Saturday, August 31, 2024, from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm, with the procession leaving for the cemetery at 2:30 pm.

Many have taken to Facebook to share their condolences and memories of Dacia. Cocom Nouveau announced the tragic news on behalf of the family, expressing their deep sadness. Willyam L Junior, Theresa Masodi Kwiyo, Emmanuel Badibanga, and several others have sent their heartfelt sympathies, with messages like "Paix à son âme" and "Mes sincères condoléances à la famille" flooding the platform. Gardy Matungulu, in a touching post, wished Dacia peace, referring to him as "filston."

Dacia’s life, though short, touched many, and his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. We extend our deepest sympathies to the Mbongo family during this incredibly difficult time.

We are deeply saddened to learn of Dacia Mbongo’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends as they navigate this period of grief.
