David Bray, Lexington, KY—Community Mourns the Loss of Former WTVQ-TV Director

David Bray, Lexington, KY—The Lexington community is deeply saddened by the sudden passing of David Bray, a beloved former director at WTVQ-TV. David was just 53 years old at the time of his passing. His loss has left a profound void in the hearts of his family, friends, and colleagues who remember him as a dedicated professional, a loving father, and a devoted husband.

David is survived by his wife Michelle, and their three children, Brittney, Brenton, and Brandee. He was also a cherished brother to Todd Bray. The news of David’s passing has sent waves of grief throughout the community, with many expressing their shock and sorrow on social media.

David Hoverman, a close friend, has organized a GoFundMe campaign to help the Bray family with funeral expenses and to alleviate some of the financial burdens they now face after losing a primary source of income. The fundraiser has raised $492 so far, with contributions from friends and colleagues who admired and respected David.

Many have taken to Facebook to share their memories and condolences. Veronica Vaquer, in her heartfelt message, shared the tragic news, stating, “Laura and I are absolutely heartbroken to share the devastating news.” Charles L. Thompson and others expressed their sorrow, with Charles writing, "That’s awful, so sorry to hear this."

Former colleagues also remembered David fondly. Rebecca L. Price wrote, “Bray was a good dude and a solid director – I really enjoyed working with him and his endless patience for rookies.” Bill Dorris echoed these sentiments, expressing his shock and heartbreak, having worked with David at both WTVW and WTVQ. Kenny B. Lawrence added, "He taught me everything I know as to how to be a director. Unbelievable."

The outpouring of support from the community is a testament to the impact David had on those around him. His legacy will live on through the memories and stories shared by those who knew him.
