Donna Rae Michelle DeVore, a cherished member of the Vancleave, MS community, passed away on August 16, 2024, after a brave battle with cancer. Donna was diagnosed in April 2024 and fought with strength and courage until the very end. Her passing has left her family and friends in deep sorrow.
Donna’s passing has particularly affected her cousin, Merilee K. Mortenson, who expressed her grief on Facebook, writing, "Going to miss my beautiful cousin." The outpouring of support and condolences from the community has been overwhelming. Mike Shafer shared, "Praying for you and your family," while Kathleen Cannon Campbell added, "So sorry for your loss. Prayers for you and your family."
In memory of Donna, a fundraiser has been organized by Deborah Chatham to assist with the expenses for Donna’s cremation and memorial services. As of now, $370 has been raised out of a $7,500 goal, thanks to the generous donations of community members like Strahd Zarley, who contributed $200, and Kristen Boyd, who donated $50.
Donna’s family is known for their kindness and philanthropy, particularly through the efforts of Jeff DeVore, who has consistently helped others through various community events. Now, in their time of need, the community is rallying to support them.
The love and support shown by Donna’s friends and family during this difficult time is a testament to the impact she had on those around her.
We are deeply saddened by the loss of Donna Rae Michelle DeVore. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones during this difficult time.
