Lizz Hodgin Weihrauch, who considered Emily as family despite not being related by blood, expressed her heartbreak on Facebook, saying, “My heart is broken. I always referred to her as ‘my Emily’. We’re not blood related, but we had chosen each other as family. She always referred to me as her aunt. I was at her birth. She LOVED Daniel. We LOVE her.”
The tragic news of Emily’s passing has drawn an outpouring of grief and condolences on social media.
