Genaro Montez, Tuckahoe, VA—The Tuckahoe community is coming together to support the family of Genaro Montez, who passed away on the afternoon of Friday, August 16th, 2024. Genaro, aged 63, succumbed to his fourth battle with cancer, a fight that lasted many years. His passing has left a profound void in the lives of his wife and four children.
The Facundo family, deeply connected to Genaro, has organized a fundraiser to help cover the funeral and memorial expenses. In addition to coping with the loss of Genaro, the family is facing another challenging situation—his wife is currently battling breast cancer. She recently underwent surgery in May 2024 to remove a cancerous tumor from her head, which has left her unable to work. This has added financial strain on the family, making the community’s support even more critical.
The fundraiser, which was launched today, has already raised $1,150 out of the $10,000 goal. The donations include contributions from Patricia Campos, who donated $50, and Israel Facundo-Reyes, who generously donated $1,000 in two separate contributions. Francisco Garcia also contributed $100, showing the community’s solidarity and compassion during this difficult time.
The Facundo family is hopeful that with the continued support from friends, neighbors, and well-wishers, they can meet the financial demands of the funeral and provide Genaro with a respectful and heartfelt memorial.
We are deeply saddened by the loss of Genaro Montez. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this incredibly challenging time.
