Julie Greenhalgh, Ashton—Community Mourns the Loss of a Beloved Soul

Julie Greenhalgh, Ashton—The community is deeply saddened by the unexpected loss of Julie Greenhalgh. A cherished friend and beloved family member, Julie was known for her vibrant personality and the warmth she brought into the lives of everyone she met. She was a true Ashtonian lady who lived life to the fullest and was immensely proud of her boys and grandchildren, who were the center of her world.

Julie’s passing has left a void in the hearts of many. Tina Cooper, a close friend, has initiated a fundraiser to assist Julie’s family in giving her the farewell she so richly deserves. Tina fondly remembers Julie as a “beautiful, crazy lady” who will be sorely missed by all who knew her. The fundraiser, titled "A true queen of soul," aims to raise £1,000 to cover the funeral expenses. As of now, £475 has been raised, with generous donations coming from friends and family, including Pat Ryan and Lisa Heeney.

Tina Cooper shared on Facebook, “This beautiful crazy lady will be sorely missed by many. She touched the hearts of so many people. A beautiful lady inside and out. Let’s help her family give her the send-off fit for their queen.”

Collette Ryan also expressed her condolences, mentioning that she had already sent support to Julie’s family. Chelsea Reid simply described Julie as “Beautiful,” a sentiment echoed by many in the community.

The outpouring of love and support on social media is a testament to the impact Julie had on those around her. The Ashton community is coming together in this time of grief, united in their memories of Julie’s kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit.
