Louise Albright, Monticello, IA— A Daughter’s Plea for Help

Louise Albright, Monticello, IA— The community of Monticello, IA, is coming together to support Shavonna Vick, who is reaching out for assistance to honor her late mother, Louise Albright. Louise passed away in July 2023, and her daughter Shavonna has been working tirelessly to fulfill her mother’s final wish—a headstone similar to the one her brother Ron has at his gravesite.

Despite her efforts, Shavonna has found herself struggling to gather the necessary funds. She has saved $1,000, but this amount falls short of the $3,500 to $5,000 needed for the headstone. Shavonna’s siblings have not been able to contribute financially, leaving her as the sole person trying to make this happen.

In a heartfelt plea on Facebook and GoFundMe, Shavonna shared her struggle and her mother’s story. Louise, a Christian woman who raised five children, two of whom have passed away, was known for her kindness and generosity. Despite her difficult life, Louise always found ways to help others, even when she had little herself.

Shavonna’s GoFundMe campaign, titled "Headstone for Louise Albright," has been launched with a goal of $3,000. As of now, Shavonna is still awaiting the first donation. She expresses deep gratitude for any help, stating that she knows her mother is an angel in heaven and believes there are angels on earth who might help her fulfill this final wish for her mom.

Friends and community members have begun to show their support online. Candice Ann wrote, "Grandma Louise deserves that headstone of her dreams. She was and is such an amazing soul. I am SO blessed to have met and spent time with her before her passing." Another supporter, Susanna Smith, commented, "Your mom deserves her mark in the world."

As the September 9th deadline approaches to order the headstone, Shavonna continues to pray for the support needed to ensure her mother can rest in peace with the memorial she deserves.

We are deeply saddened to learn of Louise Albright’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with Shavonna Vick and her family during this difficult time.
