Maximino Suchite Hernandez, Newark, NJ Community Mourns Talented Vocalist

Maximino Suchite Hernandez, originally from Cruz de Charmá Jocotán, Chiquimula, Guatemala, has sadly passed away. He was well-known as the vocalist of the ensemble Voices of Hope in his community. His unexpected demise has deeply affected his loved ones and the broader community, both in his hometown and in Newark, NJ, where he had been residing.

The family is in need of support to repatriate Maximino’s body to his homeland for a proper farewell. A fundraiser organized by Brenda Crespo is currently ongoing, with the goal of raising $1,000 to cover funeral expenses and transportation costs. As of now, $40 has been raised, with Gloria Lopez being the first donor.

The community has shown an outpouring of grief and support on social media. Noticiero Chorti y Deportes shared the news of Maximino’s passing, expressing deep sorrow and calling for assistance for the family. Friends and acquaintances have also left heartfelt messages on Facebook, reflecting the profound impact Maximino had on those around him.

Nolberto Canelo Flores lamented, "Lamento mucho mi hermano que en paz descanses," while Chabelo Garcia simply stated, "En paz descanse el amigo." Eliel De Paz Diaz noted Maximino’s efforts to support his family, saying, "Fuiste un guerrero x bebiste Ai para sacar adelante tu familia pero ya t toco pues que dios te tenga en su santo gloria."

Maximino’s nephew, Compita Nelson Diaz Ramirez, also expressed his sorrow, "Descanse en paz tio max." These messages, among many others, illustrate the deep affection and respect Maximino garnered throughout his life.

The Newark community and Maximino’s family are now rallying to ensure his return to Guatemala, where he will be laid to rest. His voice and spirit will be dearly missed, but the love and memories he leaves behind will continue to resonate.
