Ms. Hopper—The Baton Rouge community is reeling from the sudden loss of Ms. Hopper, who passed away recently, reportedly due to a heat stroke. Her daughter, Kelley Hopper, shared the devastating news, expressing deep sorrow and shock over the unexpected loss of her beloved mother. Kelley, heartbroken, conveyed her disbelief, saying, "I’m completely speechless… who am I gonna talk to every day now? I shouldn’t even be writing this because I don’t even have the words."
Ms. Hopper was a cherished member of her family, and her passing has left an immense void in the lives of those who knew and loved her. Kelley mentioned that her mother had expressed a wish to be cremated and have her ashes scattered in the ocean, a final wish that Kelley is striving to fulfill.
To honor Ms. Hopper’s final wish, Kelley has organized a fundraiser to cover the funeral expenses, as her mother did not have insurance. The fundraiser, titled "Help Us Honor Ms. Hopper’s Final Wish," has already raised $350 out of the $5,000 goal, thanks to generous contributions from community members.
Among those who have donated are Michael Anderson, Miracle Sanford, Mikiel Thomas, Percy Magee, and Allen Wallace. Their support is a testament to the impact Ms. Hopper had on those around her, and the community’s desire to help her family during this difficult time.
Meme K Sanford, a close friend, also took to Facebook to express her grief, asking the community to support the fundraiser and help fulfill Ms. Hopper’s final wish.
The community continues to rally around Kelley and her family, offering condolences and support as they navigate this heartbreaking loss. Ms. Hopper’s memory will be cherished, and her presence deeply missed by all who knew her.
We extend our deepest sympathies to Kelley and her family during this incredibly difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
