Pauls Desson-Baxter, Coventry, Community Mourns the Loss of a LGBTQ+ Advocate

Pauls Desson-Baxter, Coventry—Earlier this month, the community of Coventry was shaken by the sudden passing of Pauls Desson-Baxter, a beloved figure and former Chair of Coventry Pride. His passing has left his partner, Terry, and his family deeply grief-stricken, as they navigate this profound loss.

Pauls was more than just a friend to many; he was a pillar of strength, hope, and unwavering support for the LGBTQ+ community in Coventry. As a founding member of Coventry Pride, Pauls dedicated his life to creating safe spaces and empowering countless individuals to live their lives authentically. His tireless activism and compassion have left an indelible mark on those who knew him and those who benefited from his work.

In light of this tragedy, a fundraiser has been organized by Jemma Lindsay to assist Terry, Pauls’ life partner of nearly 14 years, with the financial burdens of funeral and living costs during this difficult time. As of now, £45 has been raised towards the £2,800 goal, with contributions from Debbie Barnwell, Avi Kay, and Theresa Hawkins.

The community has come together to honor Pauls’ memory, sharing their heartfelt thoughts and prayers on social media. Warwickshire Pride posted, “Paul was a beacon of hope, love, and unwavering support. His legacy will continue to inspire us all.” The outpouring of love and support reflects the deep impact Pauls had on the lives of many.

We are deeply saddened to learn of Pauls Desson-Baxter’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with Terry, his family, and friends during this incredibly difficult time.
