Batesville, IN—The community is mourning the loss of Sandi Maxfield, a beloved caregiver who passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Sandi was a dedicated CNA and QMA, known for her deep love for her job, her residents, and her coworkers. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of those who knew and worked with her.
Kiana Pigmon, one of Sandi’s coworkers, shared a heartfelt message on Facebook, saying, "Rest easy, sweet Sandi. Sandi was one of the best coworkers I have ever worked with. I always knew it was going to be a good day when she was working. She always looked out for all of us girls, with bringing us food, sharing her snacks, sharing her laugh, it was quite impossible to have a bad day with Sandi! My heart goes out to your family and friends, your St. Andrews family loves you, forever."
Rachel Lows Gilbreath also remembered Sandi fondly, highlighting her culinary skills, “Her cucumber salad was the best!”
A GoFundMe campaign has been organized by Natasha Collins-Dietrich to help cover the funeral expenses for Sandi. The fundraiser has so far raised $85 out of a $10,000 goal, with contributions from friends and colleagues, including Alyssa Henson, Rachel Gilbreath, Ashlynn Daniels, and Brandi Winters. Sandi’s life insurance was lost when she could no longer work, making this fundraiser crucial to giving her the farewell she deserves.
Sandi Maxfield’s legacy as a strong, caring woman who touched many lives will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. The community’s love and support during this difficult time is a testament to the impact she had on everyone around her.
We extend our deepest sympathies to Sandi’s family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.
