Sharon Slater, Seattle, WA—Community Mourns the Loss of a Cherished Family Member

Sharon Slater, Seattle, WA—Sharon Slater passed away on Friday, August 18th, 2024, leaving her family and friends in deep sorrow. Sharon was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandma, and great grandma. She was known for her warm heart and her willingness to help anyone in need, often taking people in just as her own mother did.

Her sudden passing followed an unexpected illness that required emergency surgery, which she tragically could not survive. Sharon’s daughters, April and Aimee Slater, are now facing the daunting task of organizing her funeral and honoring her memory in the best way they can.

April Slater has organized a GoFundMe campaign to support the funeral expenses. As of now, $40 has been raised out of the $3,000 goal, with the first donation coming from Corinne Halls. The family is asking for support from anyone who knew Sharon, either personally or through her family, to help during this difficult time.

April shared her grief on Facebook, expressing her heartbreak over the loss of her mother and reaching out for help. The community has responded with an outpouring of sympathy and support. Sabra Hall-Warren expressed her condolences, saying, "April Slater I’m so sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you." Corinne Huston Halls added, "Oh, April…I am very sorry you are experiencing the loss of your mama. I hope your memories of the good times with her will bring you comfort in the days to come."

Other friends, such as Gerry Leonard and Izgil Mardahayev, also shared their sympathies, with messages of love and prayers for the family. The Slater family is deeply touched by the community’s kindness and support during this heartbreaking time.
