Shaun Porter, San Antonio, TX, Community Mourns a Beloved Friend and Cyclist

Shaun Porter, San Antonio, TX—Shaun Porter, a cherished member of the San Antonio cycling community, passed away on August 10th, after a long and courageous battle with back, stomach, and lung issues. Shaun was known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering willingness to help others, qualities that endeared him to many.

Shaun’s passing has left his wife, Cindy, in a difficult situation. As the sole provider for his family, Shaun continued to work despite his severe health challenges, but the mounting bills and lack of life insurance have placed a significant financial burden on Cindy. The community has come together to support her during this heartbreaking time, with Mary Kay Delavan organizing a fundraiser in Shaun’s memory. The goal is to raise $5,000 to help Cindy navigate life without her partner of 28 years.

Shaun will be remembered not just for his contributions to the cycling community but for the love and care he extended to all who knew him. His dream of riding again may have gone unfulfilled, but his legacy lives on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

We extend our deepest sympathies to Cindy and the entire Porter family during this incredibly difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
