Shir Hanna Georgy, Dollard-Des Ormeaux, QC—Shir Hanna Georgy, whose life was tragically cut short during last year’s terror attack at the Nova Festival on October 7th, is remembered with deep sorrow and love by her community. A fundraiser has been organized by Sivane Dahan to help create a sefer torah in her memory, a gesture that reflects the community’s enduring commitment to preserving her legacy.
Sivane Dahan, in a heartfelt Facebook post, urged everyone to contribute to the sefer torah project, emphasizing that any amount would be greatly appreciated by Shir’s family. “Shir’s family needs our help to raise funds to cover the cost for a sefer torah in her memory. Please share with your surrounding. Any amount helps and is greatly appreciated. Thank you,” wrote Sivane.
The GoFundMe page, also managed by Sivane Dahan, has set a goal of $5,000 CAD to cover the costs associated with the sefer torah. The community has been asked to come together once more, as they did last year, to support Shir’s parents in this noble cause. The post mentioned that funds raised will be sent directly to Shir’s parents, who have been profoundly touched by the outpouring of love and support they’ve received over the past year.
The fundraiser, which was reopened to allow donors to receive a donation receipt, is a testament to the deep bond Shir had with those around her and the lasting impact she left behind. Sivane expressed her gratitude, saying, “We thank you from the bottom of our heart for all the love and support we have received over the past year.”
Shir Hanna Georgy’s memory continues to inspire her community, and the sefer torah will serve as a lasting tribute to her life and the love she shared with those who knew her.
We are deeply saddened to learn of Shir Hanna Georgy’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this difficult time.
