Varney McGill Marshall, Ottawa, Ontario—The unexpected loss of Varney McGill Marshall has left the community in mourning. Varney was a cherished member of the Liberian community in Canada, known for his kind spirit and dedication to his family. His passing has deeply affected those who knew him, including his son, with whom he was residing in Ottawa at the time of his passing on August 7, 2024.

The community has come together to support his family during this difficult time. A GoFundMe campaign, organized by James Marshall, has been set up to help cover the costs of funeral arrangements and burial. The campaign has a goal of $15,000, with $30 raised so far, thanks to a generous donation from Vanessa Pike.

On Facebook, friends and loved ones have shared heartfelt messages in memory of Varney. Zoe Fully expressed her deep sorrow, writing, "I am still in shock about this news, you were there for me more than my own family! I miss you & pray you are at peace V." Vanessa Pike also offered her condolences, saying, "Zoe, I am so sorry to hear this awful news. I know it’s been a long time, but I’m sending hugs and praying for the whole family."

Varney’s untimely passing has left a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. The memories of his kindness and the impact he had on those around him will continue to live on in the hearts of his friends and family.
